The 419 Transition: Stepping Into the Year of Favour

May 2, 2025

Over the last six months, I have felt a growing sense of the significance of a new season the Lord is inviting us to step into—specifically for Australia, New Zealand, and the islands of Oceania. It is a time of freedom and favour where the Lord’s mercy, blessings, and graces are abundant. It is a season of joy and celebration in unity, as we declare and decree an era of favour over our Great South Land of the Holy Spirit.

In this year of "grace upon grace" (2025), the Lord is breaking the shackles of depression and oppression, bringing us out of blindness and into the light of victory. We are being invited to shed the cloak of despair and don the garment of praise; to step into the freedom He bought for us by His blood; to drop the broken chains and smashed locks once and for all; and to truly claim His favour and blessing for our nations and all our peoples.

This new era is a transition from where we have been to where we are going. It is the start of something completely new. The Lord has shown and confirmed to me that we are currently in this period of transition, with a particular prophetic weight resting on the dates from May 14, 2025, through to Pentecost and beyond.

The Significance of May 14

May 14 holds deep significance for our region. First, it marks the anniversary of when the Portuguese navigator Pedro Fernandez de Quirós explored the South Pacific with the intention of finding the great, undiscovered southern continent. De Quirós landed in Vanuatu on Pentecost Sunday and declared the entire southern land region, as far as the South Pole, to be “La Australia del Espiritu Santo”—the South Land of the Holy Spirit.

Back in November 2024, the Lord impressed upon my heart to calculate how many years it had been since that declaration was made. At that time, it was 418 years. This year, 2025, marks 419 years.

These two numbers are incredibly significant to me. In my prayers over the previous two years, Luke 4:18–19 had been constantly prominent:

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour." (Luke 4:18-19)

I believe the Lord is inviting us to actively declare and decree Luke 4:19 over our lands: to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and re-dedicate our nations to the Holy Spirit.

A Convergence of Grace and Favour

The numbers 14, 5, and 25 hold great biblical and historical significance regarding grace:

  • The Manna and Independence: In Jewish history, the 14th of May 2025 (the 16th of Iyar on the Hebrew calendar) celebrates the day Manna first began to fall from heaven—a supreme sign of God's favour. It is also the historic date in 1948 when the Israeli Declaration of Independence was proclaimed.

  • Mid-Pentecost: May 14 2025 happens to be the exact midpoint between Easter and Pentecost. Our Orthodox brothers and sisters celebrate "Mid-Pentecost" on this day—a beautiful spiritual bridge of reflection and prayer connecting the joy of the Resurrection with the anticipation of the Holy Spirit’s outpouring at Pentecost.

  • The Numeric Alignment (14-5-2025): The date itself carries a beautiful mathematical pattern: 1 + 4 = 5. May is the 5th month. And the year is '25 (5 times 5). In Scripture, the number 5 is frequently linked to God's grace and favour. We are truly walking in 5 times 5—grace upon grace!

  • The Number 14: Fourteen has profound biblical weight. Passover occurs on the 14th day of the first month, representing rescue and redemption. It is also the number of generational blessing, noted in the three sets of fourteen generations from Abraham to Jesus listed in Matthew's Gospel.

  • The Catholic Jubilee: Globally, the Catholic Church has declared 2025 an ordinary Jubilee Year. A Jubilee is a holy year of grace, conversion, pilgrimage, and sacramental repentance, held precisely every 25 years.

  • St. Matthias: May 14 is the feast day of St. Matthias, the apostle chosen to replace Judas. The name Matthias literally means "Gift of God"—a direct reflection of divine favour.

The Lectionary Confirmation

On Sunday, January 26 (Australia Day), I attended my local Catholic Parish for Mass. For those reading this who may not know, the Scripture readings for Catholic Mass are predetermined worldwide, following a three-year cycle established in 1970. On this particular day, the global Lectionary served up a perfect confirmation:

  • First Reading (Nehemiah 8:2–4, 5–6, 8–10): "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." A call to celebrate the joy of the Lord.

  • Second Reading (1 Corinthians 12:12–30): "Just as the body, though one, has many parts..." A call to gather in unity, recognising that we need one another.

  • Gospel Reading (Luke 1:1–4; 4:14–21): Jesus stands in the synagogue and reads the exact scroll of Isaiah—proclaiming Luke 4:18 and 4:19! He explicitly announces: "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."

I sense we are being called in this year of grace upon grace to boldly declare a time of favour over this Land of the Holy Spirit. We are called to pray for healing, reconciliation, and deep unity across Australia and Oceania.

The Vision of the Mirrors

In 2024, on the 24th of November, I awoke from a dream at approximately 11:24 PM with a powerful vision. I saw groups of the faithful gathering together in seaside villages and across the Australian outback. Everyone was holding massive round mirrors that captured beams of light, bouncing them from one mirror to the next.

The light beams gained immense intensity as they flashed across the continent, until all the beams fused into one massive, brilliant ray of light heading heavenward in a great arc. The light was then sent forth from our nation to the rest of the world, splitting once again into multiple beams that simultaneously struck every nation on earth.

The next morning, I prayed for clarity and wrote this prophetic word in my journal: Spirit of Unity, Great South Land.

I felt the Lord saying that He will move in our nation from a position of unity—which runs completely counter to a world fractured by disunity, conflict, and disagreement. The Australian and Pacific Church will come together like a spearhead. A "spearhead" is the leading force of an advance; in intercession, it represents those Christian soldiers who bravely stand in the gap for a broken world. This move of the Spirit coming to the Great South Land is a wave of unified prayer and intercession, and it is from this position that the light of the Holy Spirit will shine like a lighthouse, reflecting God's glory back to the rest of the world.

As 2 Corinthians 3:17–18 reminds us, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom, and we are being transformed from glory to glory as we reflect Him.

Scriptural foundations

1 Corinthians 1:10

"I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment." (RSV-CE)

Matthew 5:14-16

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." (RSV-CE)

Isaiah 60:1

"Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." (RSV-CE)

Luke 4:18-19

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." (RSV-CE)

Isaiah 61:3

"...to grant to those who mourn in Zion—to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified." (RSV-CE)

Nehemiah 8:10

"Then he said to them, 'Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord; and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.'" (RSV-CE)

John 1:16

"For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, Favor upon Favor, and gift heaped upon gift]." (AMP)

Matthew 28:18-20 (The Full Great Commission Context)

"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.'" (RSV-CE)
